Everyone in District 91, UK South is buzzing with excitement for our upcoming Spring conference on 3rd to 5th May.

There are many fantastic aspects to the event; we learn something new from a wide range of speakers, make new connections and enjoy seeing our district finalists take the stage.

2024 is a big year for Toastmasters International as we have two big birthdays. Toastmasters itself is 100 years old! That’s 100 years of Table Topics, Speeches and millions of people across the world learning new communication and leadership skills! District 91 is also turning 10 years old; District 91 represents the south of the UK, with 6 Divisions, 62 Areas, 169 clubs and 4000 members and those numbers are growing every day. So many of our District 91 members will be celebrating these major milestones at our conference; it’s going to be packed with learning, fun and entertainment guaranteed.

Incredible Speakers!

An aspect of District 91 conferences that everyone gets excited about are the speakers; the incredible people who learnt to grow in their public speaking through Toastmasters and/or their professional careers. And boy do we have an amazing line up so far! 

First is The Godmother and Immediate Past District Director Rupa Dutta! She is leading a panel named We are District 91 which celebrates the legacy created throughout 10 years of District 91 and how to build it for the future.

(why we call her The Godmother might be a story for the dance floor at the gala dinner).

On Sunday we’ll be gifted with three speakers! Before lunch on Sunday we have Kirti Daryanani, DTM and Dr Graham Norris DTM!

Kirti will be interviewed on how to get outside of your club bubble. It will be interactive and will teach us all about stepping outside of your comfort zone.b. A perfect subject to enable us to create our legacy at our special event. 

Dr Graham Norris, DTM will lead us with a memorable speech entitled: Navigating Uncertainties, Strategies for a limited future. We will learn about breaking free from uncertainties and setting you off on a transformation journey. You will no doubt create a limitless you with inspiration from Dr Graham!

In the afternoon, we will close out the conference with our Humorous Speech Contest and an interactive panel presentation from Alistair Marston focused on addressing bias in leadership to unite teams. Speaking of teams, the Sunday closing ceremony will include the introduction of the 2024/2025 District Leadership Team. Who will take our District into the next decade?

An Indulgent Gala Dinner!

We’re all so excited for the upcoming conference, but did you know that there will also be a glamorous Gala Dinner on Saturday 4th May? 

This beautiful event will be held at the Hotel Du Vin in Bristol, a short distance away from our conference venue Engineers House; there will be a three course meal, plenty of drinks such as wine and tea and coffee and incredible live band, so get ready to rock and roll in the evening! The conference team is leaving no stone unturned as we celebrate 10 years of our District 91 and 100 years of Toastmasters.
