  • First panel discussion

''And the winner is… none of these panellists! How to learn, grow and bounce back from losing” In this panel discussion, chaired by Freddie Daniells, we will hear from three of our own successful Toastmasters - Sonia Aste, Simon Bucknall and Errol Williamson - and how they failed their way to success. We will hear their stories of failure, learn how they found the courage to carry on, hear advice on how to cope with our own failures both in Toastmasters and beyond and we will hear how they ultimately turned their failure into their successes.

  • Second panel discussion

Making the most of mentoring. Chaired by Andy Hammond, panel members including Dennise Hilliman, Paul Rhys-Taylor and Rick Cooper will share their experiences of mentoring, from the support they received as new members and the benefits they gained, how their mentors inspired and motivated them to greater achievements personally, to starting new clubs, and growing into leadership roles, and how those skills can be applied in the “real world”. There will be the opportunity for the audience to ask the panel questions and to share their own experiences of mentoring.

  • Third panel discussion

Leaders of Tomorrow, Today, chaired by Steve Birch. Steve is passionate about the need for Youth Leadership to be a part of every school curriculum. He believes that as “they will become the leaders of tomorrow, there is a need for these life skills to be learnt when the brain is like a sponge thirsting for knowledge.” Steve will be joined by Gagan Singh, Alistair Barton, Jannette Winnick, Dr Julie Kertesz & Geoff Richardson.

“An event is not only defined as a room full of people with a stage. It is someone’s chance to get their voice heard. Someone’s opportunity to learn something new. Someone’s moment to meet someone they idolise.”  Alistair Barton, D91 Spring Conference Technical Director,

District 91's Great Gavel Race

District 91’s Great Gavel Race was won by Division A which was the first Division to get the gavels around their Division

There was a tie between Division D and Division H for being the most creative in their attempts to get their gavels around their clubs.

To see the journeys of the gavels, watch the gavel race videos.

Is your club featured?

Eight gavels raced around the 171+ clubs in all eight Divisions throughout District 91, by any means necessary over the past few months.
