Engineer’s House is a Grade ll listed in Clifton, a beautiful suburb in Bristol just minutes walk from the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Our conference venue will host the full conference programme from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The District Contest Finals and the District Council Meeting will also be hosted at this venue.

We encourage you to dress smart casual or business casual for this event, make sure you’ll be comfortable to enjoy the weekend. Delegates can keep luggage in our registration room if needed.

Less than a 10-minute stroll or a few minutes drive from the conference venue, nestled into the side of the Avon Gorge is a Hotel du Vin venue.

Our Gala Dinner celebration will be hosted at the hotel.

Those attending the gala dinner will enjoy the exclusive Aquam Bibe (Latin for drink water) Suite during a three-course meal with water and wine provided, along with access to the cash bar as well as the formal celebrations.

We invite you to dress to impress (black tie optional) as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our District.

The Rodney Hotel is the closest to the venue, but all four hotels will offer the below rate if you call and advise you are with a conference at The Engineers House.

Note: Conference and Contest team members have booked rooms at The Rodney Hotel. The rate without breakfast for a single room is £63.

Bristol has a wide range of Air BnB options, in particular, many close to Clifton for those who may prefer this style of accommodation.


Travel

We encourage all delegates to consider the environment when travelling to the conference. Bristol is an accessible destination via train and major bus services. Or why not car share with friends to split fuel and parking costs

Car

Engineer’s House has excellent links to the M5 and M4 avoiding Bristol City Centre. There is ample parking available, with 2 car on-site parking attendants. After 5pm on Friday, street parking is free and the venue has partnerships with alternative parking options if needed.

The venue will have other events during the weekend, so parking is not dedicated to our conference delegates.

Train

10-minute taxi journey from Temple Meads Train Station

Bus

Bristol City Circular Bus Service is on the number 8 Bus circular bus route from Temple Meads Train station, City Centre, College Green and Clifton Triangle, this service stops outside Engineers’ House front gates every 15 minutes.

Bike

There are 50 secure covered bike racks on-site and Voi electric scooter hire is located 50 yards from the venue

Air

Engineers’ House is a 15-minute drive from Bristol Airport.
